Where does tutoring take place and at what hours?

Tutoring typically takes place in the comfort of your home and occurs on weeknights or on the weekend. We work around your schedule to make sure that timing is convenient for you. We provide tutoring in Toronto and the GTA, including Etobicoke, Thornhill, Markham, Richmond Hill, and Scarborough.

What if I do not like the tutor I get?

This rarely happens, however we realize that different teaching styles match differnt learning styles, so you are welcome to change tutors until you find the right match. However, it is important to let us know soon as possible in order to make these arrangements in a timely manner.

What grades and subject do you tutor?

Next Step Tutoring provides tutoring for all grades (K-12) and all subjects. At the Elementary level, we specialize in having teachers that can support your child’s academic needs. At the high school level, we have tutors specialized in Math, Science, English and French that can help your child excel in school.

What are your rates and payment options?

Our rates are $40 per hour for grades 1-8 and $45 per hour for grades 9 – 12. At the end of each month, we will provide you with an invoice for the hours tutored. Tutoring can either by paid by cheque or through Paypal.

What experience and training do the tutors have?

All tutors are post secondary graduates and specialize in the subjects they teach. Some of our tutors are certified teachers and university students aspiring to become professionals.

That means that our tutors can provide customized lessons to the needs of your child. Most of our tutors are Ontario Certified Teachers, so they are very familiar with the Ontario curriculum.
